Freedom Torch

Every year as a symbol of unity, a torch goes around all of Tanzania. Kind of like the Olympic torch. Today it arrived in Korogwe. I love community events and was excited to see it. This afternoon, I walked to Lulu's shop and visited her for a bit. Then we left with her kids to do some grocery shopping in the market. Lastly we stopped by the field where they were having a celebration for the Freedom Torch. There we a lot of people in attendance so we didn't get close. I could see the flames of the torch from a far. It was a fun event where people were having a good time together. There was food for sale, dancing and shows.

It was neat to be there. The celebration will go on all night, but we left just before dark.
