Sorry for the late update. We are still having internet problems and it has been two days since I have been able to get online.
Praise report – Our trip to Nairobi went really well. Eli did great on the bus. I was worried he would cry a lot and disturb the other passengers, but he was an angel. He just slept and fed a lot which made it easy for us.
(Eli's first bus ride)
Our appointment at the embassy also went well. We arrived quite a bit early, but they took us back early anyway. Eli was fussy that day, but the staff was really nice about it. The lady that conducted our interview was very kind and helpful. Our case was simple and she said he would easily be approved for US citizenship.
(Back in the hotel room after the embassy appointment. Eli is excited to be a US citizen!)
On our way to Tanzania in two weeks, we’ll go back to the embassy to pick up his passport and get his other paperwork. At that time, I will also apply for a new passport and social security card with my new name. I will official be an Orwa!
Thank you so much for your prayers. The trip couldn’t have gone better.
(Eli is starting to smile! Here he is on the way home.)
