Down Time

Since George left last Wednesday, Eli and I have just been hanging out at the house. It's too hard to go out on our own. Today, however, I went out. To George's sister's house. We just hung out all day and it was really nice. Her neighbor, Kim, also hung out with us and we talked a lot about our kids. It was really helpful to talk out some of the challenges George and I have faced dealing with a newborn. I felt comforted knowing I am not alone and what we are going through is normal newborn stuff. Kim is from the US so she is able to understand the cultural differences as well. I had a nice day and will be going back tomorrow. It was nice to know Eli and I could survive an extended outing.

(Kim had a nice baby chair she let us use. I wish we could find one of these here in Kisumu. Eli loved it. He looked so small in it!)

On the other days, Eli and I had a lot of time on our hands so I decided to play the picture game with him. My friends and I love taking funny photos of ourselves. The uglier the face, the better. Here are some of my favorites of Eli. He is a cutie, but he has some funny angles!

George will be back on Wednesday.. Yay! We miss you!
