September Email Update

Hello faithful family and friends,

Our time in Kenya is once again wrapping up and we are getting ready to head back to Tanzania. Thank you so much for your prayers this last month. We were successful in getting’s Eli’s birth certificate, Kenyan passport and US embassy appointment for his US passport and citizenship papers. With that done, we are just about ready to go.

On October 11th, we’ll meet up with Alan and Shannon Reed of Africa Harvest of Hope in Moshi, Tanzania. They are bringing with them two doctors from the US who are doing research and patient screening for a future trip to do free cataract surgery for the needy. If all goes well, they will return in February to do the surgeries.

During our time with Alan and Shannon, we’ll be praying for and planning our work with Africa Harvest of Hope. We would really love your prayers for our time together. As of now, George and I (and Eli!) are planning on going back to Korogwe to confirm if we will be able to continue to work there. We especially need prayers for our work permits to come through and for unity with the local staff. We want to be in Korogwe and are praying for the Lord to work that out.

To summarize, here are our prayer requests for this next month:

1. Safe trip to Tanzania – safety on the 17 hour bus ride and comfort for Eli

2. A successful research trip for the eye doctors

3. Productive and Spirit led and wisdom filled time with Alan and Shannon as we discuss plans for Africa Harvest of Hope – for the current work being done and also for other ministry opportunities East Africa.

4. Completion of our work permits and unity with local staff

5. Provision of a car for our family and ministry use

As always, our blog is there to keep you informed. www.thisisstaciesblog.blogspot.com. It has donation information, prayer requests, stories of life in Africa, ministry activities and photos. Have a blessed month. Thank you for your faithful support.

Love,

George, Stacie and Eli Orwa

Habakkuk 3:17-19

Even though the fig trees have no blossoms,
and there are no grapes on the vines;
even though the olive crop fails,
and the fields lie empty and barren;
even though the flocks die in the fields,
and the cattle barns are empty,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord!
I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!
The Sovereign Lord is my strength!
He makes me as surefooted as a deer,
able to tread upon the heights.
