And I don't mean the creepy crawly kind. Sorry I have not blogged in a few days. I have been sick. I caught some sort of stomach bug. We were headed out to a village on Sunday when I began to feel sick. I held Jed the whole way there and then during the event. His weight against my stomach (even though he is tiny) killed. And then I had to endure a 30 minute bumpy car ride home. At one point we had to pull over because I thought I was going to vomit. Once we got back, I headed straight to the bathroom and then to bed. Within a couple hours I was vomiting and visiting the bathroom round the clock (I apologize to be so frank about going to the bathroom. Poop is a frequent topic around here! It says a lot about how you are doing). Sheena tested me for malaria and the test results were unclear. Fortunately Monday morning we ran two tests which came back negative. So, I probably just caught a stomach bug. A few others had been sick the week before so it probably was the same thing they had. Monday morning I was extremely dehydrated (going to the bathroom 15 times during the night will do that to a person!) so they hooked me up to an IV. I had it in from about 10-7 during which they pumped me with a few liters.
Now I am feeling much better. I am still worn out, but on my way back to 100%. Thanks to the people that helped me, especially Kristi and Sheena.
Oh yeah... and I survived my first injury! I was baking cookies and reached into a drawer to look for a spoon. I failed to see the five or so large knives on top and sliced my finger. (Seriously... who reaches into a drawer of knives?) After seeing the blood wouldn't stop I ran over to the clinic for treatment. Kristi dermabonded my finger and it's healing nicely.
No broken bones yet so that's good!
Wow! You are being indoctrinated (is that a word?). Mike has giardia....gurgly gut and smelly butt....definately brought it back from Africa, but he now has the right meds for it. Cipro is not the right one (100.00 mistake!)...Flagyl is the one (you have that in the pharmacy)...

Glad it was nothing more than a bug.
