Achol is a woman who came to the clinic this evening to give birth. She has been in labor for two days. Her water broke yesterday and she is exhausted from pushing. Apparently, whoever was assisting her with the birth decided to cut her to help the baby come out. When that didn't work, they came to the clinic. The problem is her pelvis is too small for the baby. The situation is very serious. Since the water broke yesterday, the longer the baby is in there, the higher the chances are he or she will die. Achol is fully dialated and the doctor can feel the head. They had to tell her to stop pushing to avoid the baby becoming distressed. What she needs is a c-section. We are not equiped to do those so she will have to drive three hours on a bumpy road to Wau in the morning.
Please pray for Achol and her baby tonight. She really needs a miracle to save the life of her baby and herself.
