Fun Laid Back Day

Today we had a low key day. We wanted Mom and Al to take it easy and adjust to the time difference. They slept well which really helped. We went to a coffee shop for a late lunch. While we were there, two of their four bags were dropped off. YAY!!!!! We hope to get the other two tomorrow.

The grocery store next to the coffee shop has carts with kiddie cars in front. Eli LOVES them. He even learned how to stand up in them. I love this photo because he looks like he is steering a ship!

In the evening, we had dinner and my Mom and Al ate Ugali. (Amy... they even liked it!!!! And Sakuma!)

Every Nakumatt has an elephant in front. Here is Eli on top of this one.

Once we got home, we opened one of the suitcases my mom brought for us. OH MY GOODNESS!!!! You guys blessed our socks off. Eli is HOOKED UP! We had virtually nothing after 12 months and now he is good to go. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

After dinner, we played a friendly game of 9 Holes. It was so much fun. We laughed a lot. It felt like game night back at home. (For the record.... I won!)

We are having a wonderful time with my Mom and Al. It's indescribable how much joy we are filled with.

  3. Your mom is a trooper! She can have my Ugali:) We had dinner with another couple that lived in Kenya for two years....we shared lots of stories about Java, Village Market, our experiences with missionaries, and ugali. We told them about your amazing guacamole and ugali chips! Yum! I'm so glad you are having an awesome time with your family!!!
    Love,
