George and I made it to Nairobi. We actually had the best travel experience from Arusha to Nairobi we have ever had. We booked seats on a shuttle instead of with one of the larger bus companies for the first time and weren't sure what to expect. The mini bus sat around 25 people and by the time the shuttle left Arusha, there were only six passengers. We thought that meant the shuttle would sit and wait to fill up, but it went straight to the border.
At the border, we had no problems. The Tanzanian side didn't give me any issues about overstaying by a day. Then the Kenyan side really helped us out. I filled out the form for a visa, expecting to have to pay $50 for it. The immigration official saw that George and I were married and decided I didn't have to pay for a visa. I just got a three month stamp and was on my way!
As the bus left the border, we again thought it might wait to fill up with more passengers, but nope... off we went to Nairobi. Two and a half hours later we arrived. We couldn't believe the shuttle traveled with so few people.
We were so comfortable and blessed by this nice traveling experience for once. Tomorrow we catch a bus to Kisumu!
