There Is No Such Word As Awed

After the stressful situation at the clinic, I was exhausted and was ready to go to bed. However, George challenged me to a game of Scrabble after dinner and I couldn't refuse. Unfortunately, I lost by 8 points. The rematch was even worse and I lost by 50 points...even with Margaret's help that led to a 35 point word. It was a shameful performance, but I had a blast. The three of us laughed so hard for two+ hours. It was really fun. George is new, but fits in well and is hilarious. Margaret too is hysterical. Chris and Stephanie joined us for a bit and we played in teams. Finally around 11:30pm, I had to go to bed. I was losing my mind I was so tired. Several rounds back, George spelled “awed.” At the time I had no problem with it, but as time went on and I got tired, I looked at it and said “what is awed” (pronouncing it a-wed). I declared there was no such word. At some point it hit me... it's awed you moron! Another funny thing was that I started off the game by misspelling “gourd.” I spelled it “gord.” As a result I got zero points and forfeited the bonus for starting the game. Dummy. About halfway through another game, we realized I used a “e” instead of a “f.” So instead of “fails” I wrote “eails.” The lower part of the “e” was rubbed off and looked like an “f.” Neither of us noticed at the time. I am usually better at Scrabble than I was yesterday. I am blaming on exhaustion! I was so thankful for a night of laughter after a stressful afternoon/evening. That is the perfect picture of my time here. When I think I can't go on, God provides a way of picking me up.
