Our pastors returned to school this week. They are starting their second year and are excited to be here. We are still in need of teachers so if you know of anyone who might be interested, please let me know!

Pastor Conference
Last week Sabet, Paul and Daniel led a pastors conference. The purpose was to encourage local pastors and church worker after the events of three weeks ago. It happened while I was in Kenya. The pastor of the local ECS church (Episcapal Church of Sudan), Peter, was involved in a violent scandal. Peter (who is not married) got a girl pregnant (Rebecca who used to work here). Since he had not paid a dowry, Rebecca's brothers attacked Peter's brother, Wilson, with a club. Shortly after he was brought to our clinic, Wilson died. Peter retaliated by killing a random man from Rebecca's tribe. Then he took Rebecca and ran. After a few days, Peter and Rebecca were caught and are both being held in jail. Peter was a beloved and respected pastor so this was shocking for the community. Sabet, Paul and Daniel taught on a variety of topics and many people left with a renewed faith. It was a neat three days that encouraged the attending pastors.
