Super Bowl!

Along with all of the US, George and I were excited to be able to watch the Super Bowl. The challenge was staying awake to watch it live. It began at 2:30 am on Monday and ended around 6:00am. Although I was not fond of either team playing, we had to pick one to root for and so we chose the Giants. Other than the Raiders, I would have preferred any other team to cheer on than the Patriots and the Giants. I don't like the Patriots at all and as a Charger fan, I can't stand Eli Manning. In the end, we decided Eli Manning was the lesser of two evils.

The game was really exciting. For a while we got discouraged and thought the Patriots might take it, but the Giants pulled it off in the end. How about that catch by Manningham? It was amazing. Ha! Take that Tom Brady. The last minute was torture. I was glad when it was finally over and the Giants won.

I did miss eating yummy Super Bowl food. The only American junk food I could find was Coke and potato chips which felt funny to eat at 2:30am.

The big disappointment of the game actually occurred here in Kisumu when George went to bed in the middle of the third quarter. How could he do that? Now that he is married to an American, there are certain things that are required and watching the Super Bowl is one of them! Rookie...

I can't wait until next year!

  1. Haha! I love that George went to bed. We are actually Giants fans in this house, so we are thrilled, but we are definitely not Patriots fans!! Andy has like the Giants since he was in high school, but the Eli Manning thoughts - I totally understand. :-) Glad you got to watch it. :-) Nichole

  2. Hey Stacie, Harry and I are right there with you! Harry said he wished that BOTH teams could lose. He has the same sentiments as you toward Eli Manning and doesn't like Bill Belichek (don't know how to spell his name) or Tom Brady either. We watched the game at Harry's sister's house down the road from us. It was more relaxing to watch since none of the four of us were rooting for either team. Good for you that you are a die hard football fan to stay up all night to watch the game! Hopefully George will start getting into REAL football (not just that soccer stuff). Karen T. :D
