George's sister has a washing machine so for the last two months, I have been going over there once a week to do my, George's and Dave's laundry. Since each load takes two hours, I call Drogba early in the morning and he takes me to Suzy's house on his motorcycle along with the two baskets of clothes. I end up usually doing five loads and finish by 8:00pm. The clothes wash in the machine and dry on the line in the backyard. I love to do laundry and it has been wonderful to have a machine to use.
Suzy was in the US for six weeks and has been back in Kisumu for one month. Since she has been back, my laundry days have also been cooking days. She has a nice big kitchen with an oven. Because of that, I get to bake while I am there. So far I have made cupcakes, cookies, cakes, muffins and pumpkin bread. I have taught her how to bake while she has taught me how to cook various entrees like spaghetti (I love her version), pizza, pilau (a rice dish) and last night we did Mexican night. We had the most amazing shredded chicken tacos. We also had ground beef, beans, salsa and tortillas. It was incredible. Suzy is a wonderful cook. After two tacos, I was stuffed and had to lie down! It was SO good!
Last night we had a lot of fun. There was a black out so we cleaned and then sat around in candle light until the power came back on. It was a nice family time with good food and laughter. It reminded me of being back home with my family.

Did you make your famous Guacamole??? I am so glad you have a nice big kitchen to cook in and laundry (as I know you have a special place in your heart for laundry!)

No guac. :( We couldn't find any good avocados. I was so sad. That would have made the night perfect.
