Vaccinations

On Friday, we took Eli for his next round of vaccinations. There were a couple funny things that happened. First, Eli was weighed on a scale that required him to hang in a sac! We even had to buy the sac since patients aren’t allowed to share. It looked like we were buying fish! Second, the nurse that gave him the injection was older, experienced and no-nonsense. When we walked into the room for the shot, I said “poor Eli, he doesn’t know what’s coming” and I felt so bad for him. She looked at me and said “You… Out. You are too sensitive.” Ha! She ordered me out! I complied…I knew Eli was in good hands with George and Redempta (Pastor Zack’s wife who took us to the hospital). That nurse was good. By the time I stepped outside the room, I heard Eli cry. She was fast! Eli did well, he only cried for a bit.

A couple hours later, Eli started to not feel well. Last time he has vaccinations, he got a high fever. This time was the same. For two days he had a fever and was feeling miserable. We just gave him Tylenol (thanks for sending it Mom) and snuggled with him a lot. (How do babies know when you sit down! Eli likes to be walked and protests the second we sit…even if we still rock him.)

Fortunately, Eli is better now and back to smiling a lot.

By the way… he is quite the porker. After a slow start, he is finally gaining weight and is up to 13 pounds. He has doubled his birth weight… little chubster! He is eleven weeks old and is a happy, healthy baby. Thank you Lord!
