Jambo!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. George and I were blessed to be invited to a Kenyan/American Thanksgiving celebration. I had a blast making pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread and cookies from scratch.
This past month has been very busy as we prepared for the wedding. It is now only three days away! I can't believe it. We are really excited, although we will miss my friends and family from the US. We'll be videotaping it so everyone back home will be able to watch it. To see pictures sooner, check my blog (http://www.thisisstaciesblog.blogspot.com/). As part of our wedding preparation, we received wonderful pre-marital counseling and look forward to applying what we learned in our lives. Our wedding will be small and simple, but special. Thank you to everyone who have helped make it possible.
In addition to planning the wedding, we have also been busy working with Trinity Fellowship. Last weekend, we attended a youth camp in Kakamega whose theme was "Discovering Your Godly Potential". George and I were guest speakers at their camp and had a wonderful time being with the kids. It reminded me of going to Hume Lake with my youth group. Except, now I am old and want to go to bed at 9:00 instead of staying up until midnight!
I also started taking Kiswahili lessons. I'm thankful God provided a tutor for me. We meet three days a week for an hour and a half each time. It is challenging, but good. I feel like I am back at school. There is a lot to learn and I just want to know it all now!
We would love your prayers for the following items:
1. Continued wisdom for us and the leaders of Africa Harvest of Hope as we pray about our involvement in their ministry in Tanzania in 2012.
2. God's blessing on our wedding day and marriage. That He would be the center of our relationship and help us through the challenges of a cross-cultural marriage. (And that there would be no rain on Saturday and Sunday!)
3. For additional prayer and financial supporters to join our team. (To find out where to send donations, please visit my blog. Details are on the front page.)
Thank you for your support and prayers. We have felt so loved and blessed.
Love,
Stacie
