No Break

After resting for a few hours, George and I went to the doctors so I could get my foot looked at. X-Rays revealed no break - Praise the Lord. So, I just have to rest it for a few days and pray it gets better soon.

Now that we are back, we'll be talking with Alan and Shannon about our future in Tanzania. Please pray for us as we seek God's will. George and I will again go to some schools with Trinity Fellowship and hopefully I can take Kiswahili lessons. Thee tutor we found is no longer able to do it so we are looking for someone new. Most of the people in Tanzania don't speak English so it's very important I learn the language.

  1. I love reading your blog posts! What a great adventure you had last week in TZ! Emotional too....I hope you are feeling better. I have been praying for you every day and can't wait to hear what the Lord has for you concerning TZ. You are my hero, Stacie!!!! Keep trodding down the path God has you on...it's messy and slippery and full of obstacles and you are doing a great job allowing God to lead you through it!

    Love,
    Amy

  2. Stacie,
I'm so glad it isn't broken. I'm so sorry you had an emotional ride home but that's to be expected. I hope you feel loved and missed by all of us. I love going through this journey with you through your blog! Thank you for keeping us updated and for 'keeping it real'! I love you so much and am thinking of you all the time. Maggie still wants to go see Stace in Africa...maybe someday we will. :) Rest that foot.

    Love you,
    Traci

  6. Hi Sharon,
Yes, there has been a huge drought, especially in Somalia. As a result, thousands of people are coming to Northern Kenya as refugees. Aid organizations are sending food to help, but corrupt government officials are taking it and keeping it from the people and selling it on the black market. Now there is a threat from Somalian pirates who have kidnapped tourists in Kenya. They have even disguised themselves as refugees and kidnapped aid workers. The situation is very bad. Where we are, we are not in danger, but the effects are trickling down. The Kenya and Tanzania Shilling have tanked and food and fuel costs are soaring. It's a national crisis. I don't know what can be done. For now we are praying.
