Adios Rainy Season

Well, the rainy season has passed us by. I am so sad it’s over. I love the cooler weather and the rain. During the rainy season, the water was shut off (by the water company for rationing) much less and there were fewer power outages. It’s starting to warm up quite a bit, although it hasn’t reached the highs yet. Right now it’s like nice San Diego weather. Soon, it will be HOT.

While the weather is nice, we try to spend a lot of time outside. When Eli was sick, being outside soothed him. Here he is chilling in a basin playing with clothes pins

(He does this funny close mouth smile nowadays.)

Learning to put them in and out of the container

Chilling with Dad while he plays ball with Nala...

With the warmer weather, the mosquitoes are returning as are the lizards. We have all gotten bitten lately and will have to start putting on repellant sooner in the day. I have had two not so nice encounters with lizards. Usually they stay out of the way. I see a lot in the yard, on the walls and trees. Every now and then, I’ll see one in the house, high on the wall. Last week, I woke up to use the bathroom early in the morning. I didn’t turn on the light and didn’t have my glasses on. Perhaps if I had, I would have seen the lizard on the toilet seat. However, I didn’t and felt it crawl up my back. It was AWFUL!!!!! Then a few days later, I was sleeping in a little (thanks to my amazing husband who woke up early with Eli) and felt something fall on the bed close to me. I didn’t see it (again, no glasses) so I started to toss the covers around. Then I saw the lizard crawl off the bed and up the curtain. YUCK!

Maybe I should start sleeping with my glasses on!

At my office, I can sit at my desk watch the lizards run across the sidewalk all afternoon. Of course they are only a few inches long....blecghck......
