Sunday School

Ever since Easter, we have had a growing amount of kids come to church. I wonder why? Could it be the word has spread that we hand out toys and candy? Although we only did that on Easter Sunday, the kids have kept coming. Usually the kids who came to church came with their parents and they quietly played at the back of the church during the service. Now that we have over thirty kids (most of them without their parents) showing up, it's not so quiet anymore! So, we decided to start a Sunday School class so they can be taught too. Sabet did the first one last week and I did it this week, with translation help from Mabior and Donato. We had over fifty children ranging in age from less than one year to twelve. We sang songs, played games and learned about Jesus being the good shephard. It was a little chaotic at times. Fifty kids can easily get out of control when they are excited! However, they had a great time. I did too. It reminds me of going to Sunday School when I was little and learning about God from a young age. I am so thankful for growing up in church. Although the kids didn't get candy and toys, we did give them juice, candy and stickers. It will be interesting to see how many come next week!
