I think I mentioned my asthma problems in a previous blog. I didn't go into detail because I didn't want people to worry. However, I have received a few emails from people asking what happened and how I am doing and I realized I needed to do an update.
In the three weeks leading up to leaving for Nairobi, my asthma began to get steadily worse. I didn't mention it to anyone because I was hoping it would get better. However, it got to a point where I was using my inhalor 7-8 times a day and wasn't getting any relief. I could not remember when the last time it was this bad and began to get scared. Finally, a few days before we left, I mentioned it to Suzy and Dennis (the doctor) and was able to get treatment.
Fortunately, Suzy has a nebulizer so I did several breathing treatments. Usually those help me right away. Unfortunately, I still wasn't progressing like I should so I got a few adrenaline shots and was put on prednisone and antibiotics. I restarted one of my asthma medications I had stopped before leaving home and was given a different inhalor. The combination of those meds, your prayers and God's healing touch, resulted in me getting better after two weeks. Now I am feeling great and am 100% better.
I apologize for not doing an update on this sooner. Thank you for your prayers! God is good!
