Africa Harvest of Hope
Today I went with some people from church to an event organized by the Africa Harvest of Hope. They are an organization that helps orphans and widows in Tanzania. Their goal was to package 150,000 meals to send to Tanzania. Each table had a box of rice, dehydrated vegetables, soy protein and vitamin packages. We had to fill bags with a certain amount of each item. Then we weighed each bag and corrected the amount in them if necessary. Lastly we vacuum sealed the bags and packed them in a box. By the time we left, 130,000 meals had been packaged. I'm sure they reached their goal by the end of the day. We worked for four hours and the time flew by. Throughout the day, they had various worship bands playing. We had a lot of fun putting the packages together. I can't wait to do it again!

Definitely fun; I particularly liked how fun it was to slide around on the rice while dancing, singing, praising and packaging!
